How is it made?
Cristina source her 1:12 unfinished dollhouse doors from Amazon. Get it here. She took them apart and reassembled them as the doors are made to open in. After that, she would decide where to place them and the painting as well as fitting it to the socket plates.
She warns that these dollhouse doors come apart very easily so pet owners or those with children needs to be extra careful. Though it may be extra work but the real reward comes when you see the craft in use.
“It’s important to know that these doors swing in so you need to carefully remove the bottom piece of wood (I used a razor blade,) flip the door around, and re-glue it. You may need to make a new hole for the pin that allows the door to swing. Make sure you don’t glue the door shut! Lastly, paint as you like, and add details and hot glue to the existing outlet plate.”
People has been asking how does it impact the overall interior design of her house and she’s totally happy to share. These little doors complements her interior nicely.
These photos of her home show how much care and attention that Cristina has for her project. Not only they’re cool to look at, it also makes a good conversation starter that none has. Every mini door adds a whimsical touch and it just blends in with the overall look and feel of the room.
